AlignMe: Privacy Policy

 1. Overview
Align Me is a personal time-alignment app that helps you track how you spend your days and reflect on whether that time matches your goals. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can delete it.

 2. Data We Collect

 2.1 Account Data

When you sign in, we collect your email address. We use passwordless magic-link authentication — we never store or see a password.

 2.2 Goals

You create up to five active goals inside the app. We store each goal's title, color, completion status, and the date it was created.

 2.3 Daily Journal Entries

When you submit a daily reflection, we store:

- The raw text you typed (appended incrementally throughout the day as separate updates)

- The timestamp of each submission


We no longer store a separate revision-notes field; corrections are submitted as new daily update snippets.


 2.4 AI-Extracted Activity Data

Your journal entry is processed by an AI model (see Section 4). The results we store include:

- Individual activity descriptions parsed from your entry

- Estimated duration for each activity

- The goal each activity is mapped to (if any)

- A points score (0–100) reflecting progress toward that goal

- An effort rating (1–5) for each activity

 2.5 Usage Metadata

We store standard Supabase row-level metadata: record creation timestamps and your user ID (a random UUID, not your email). We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or crash analytics.

 3. How We Use Your Data

  • Display your goals and progress on-screen: Goals, extracted activities

  • Generate your 7-day rolling momentum view: Extracted activity scores by day

  • Generate your "Your Time" analytics dashboard: Aggregated goal scores by time window

  • Produce the AI reflection summary on the "Your Time" screen: Aggregated goal scores (no raw text sent)

  • Process your daily journal entry through AI: Raw text + goal list (see Section 4)

  • Authenticate you: Email address

We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell your data to third parties, and do not use your data to train any AI model.

 4. Third-Party Services

 4.1 Supabase (Database & Authentication)

All app data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. Supabase also handles magic-link email delivery and session management.

 4.2 Google Gemini AI

When you submit a daily journal entry, the following data is sent to the Google Gemini API for processing:

- Only the new text snippet from that submission (not your full day's accumulated history)

- The titles of your active goals (so the AI can map activities to goals)

When you view the "Your Time" insights summary, only aggregated goal scores (no raw text) are sent.


Google processes this data to return structured activity extractions and reflective summaries. We do not share your email address or account identity with Google.

 5. Data Storage & Security


- All data is stored in a Supabase database with Row-Level Security (RLS) enabled, meaning your data is only accessible to you when you are authenticated.

- Communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS.

- Your session is managed using short-lived JWTs and secure storage on your device.

- We do not store your data on your device beyond what is needed to render the current session.

 

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you have an active account. If you delete your account through the in-app "Delete My Account" option in the Settings drawer, all of your data is permanently and irreversibly erased, including:

- Your profile and account record

- All goals

- All daily journal entries and revision notes

- All AI-extracted activity records

There is no recovery path after account deletion.


 7. Your Rights

Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to:

- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you

- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data

- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data at any time via the in-app settings, or by emailing us

- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format

 8. Children's Privacy

Align Me is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

 9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
